If fly fishing on small and wild streams is your thing then let ABAS take you on an adventure in to the heart of the Peak District National Park. With extensive knowledge of the upper reaches of the Dove as well as tributaries such as the Lathkill, Bradford and Manifold, the visiting angler has a huge breadth of options when it comes to exploring these small, crystal clear headwaters.

Using a mixture of dry fly techniques and a number of different ways to present a nymph, you will be surprised by the size of the wild brown trout resident in these tiny streams. The fishing here is amongst some of the most challenging and rewarding one could imagine and learning to catch fish from these wild and untouched waters really is a great experience.

For the exploratory angler looking for a day far from the madding crowd, the tiny tributaries of the Peak District can be the perfect anathema from real life. Be prepared for plenty of walking, some technical presentations and the possibility of some really great fishing.

With lunch and refreshments provided and free transfers to and from either Lichfield or Burton on Trent train stations these days give the angler the ultimate opportunity to sample fantastic fly fishing in the heart of the UK. With each station being only 30 minutes from Birmingham, 60 from Manchester or 90 from London, a full day trip with ABAS makes accessing our area simple and cost effective. Half Day Trips: The half day trip is ideal for the angler who has less time on their hands or who may wish to focus on a particular technique. During the summer this may be sneaking out from work early and fishing the evening rise for brown trout until dark or maybe in the winter managing to get out at first light for a few hours to tempt some wild grayling. The half day is also ideal for younger ones who may not have the energy for a full day on the river. I supply refreshments and snacks for the half day trips but don’t offer a transfer as part of the package. This is something that can be arranged if needed.
